                                                                             Abstract

The research paper investigates how NEP 2020 supports mental health care for students along
with teachers between urban and rural education settings across India. Urban schools
demonstrate superior implementation of mental health programs compared to rural schools
because they possess better resources alongside skilled staff. Rural institutions encounter
multiple obstacles because they have restricted facilities and receive inadequate teacher training
and experience social barriers. In this regard, the secondary data collection method and thematic
analysis enables the study to reveal critical obstacles and propose foundation raises and staff
training along with preventive interventions that can enhance mental health services between
urban and rural regions.
